What does your paycheck show?
Gross means before taxes and deductions. A 0.5× premium excludes straight-time pay. A full 1.5× line includes straight-time pay for overtime hours. Full-line comparisons require a uniform effective hourly rate within each week.

Which paycheck amount should you compare?
Compare like with like: modeled gross earnings, the additional overtime premium, or full overtime earnings. Gross is before taxes and deductions. A separate 0.5× premium and a full 1.5× overtime line are different amounts.
Synthetic example: At 45 hours and $24 per hour, modeled gross is $1,140. A separate additional premium is $60. Full overtime earnings for the five overtime hours are $180. Select the format your paycheck uses. Mixed-rate full-overtime comparisons are withheld because allocation can differ.
A difference is a question to review with payroll, not a finding of underpayment. Read the paycheck-line guide. Calculate gross pay first.

About this estimate
These tools use standard federal weekly overtime rules. State rules and some pay arrangements need a different calculation.
Read the method and assumptionsWhy is overtime calculated per week?
Under the standard federal weekly method, overtime applies to hours worked above 40 in each employer workweek. A two-week paycheck does not permit averaging hours across weeks. Use complete employer workweeks. See an example →
What does a paycheck difference mean?
It is a difference to review. Check hours, formats, compensation, and applicable rules. It does not establish liability. Read the line-item guide →
Do you save my pay details?
Gross-pay history saves only when you enable device saving and press Save. There is no cloud sync. Paycheck and W-4 inputs stay in tab memory and are not saved in that history. Read the privacy details →
