About Pay in View

A focused set of pay tools for US hourly workers. Understand the estimate, its inputs, and its limits.

What you can calculate

Pay in View provides free paycheck and overtime calculators for US workers. Use the gross-pay tools to calculate weekly overtime, compare a paycheck line, or plan an extra shift. Use the paycheck calculator to estimate taxes and deductions.

Each result includes its inputs, calculation method, and limits. You can check the arithmetic and use it to ask payroll about a specific difference. An estimate does not establish what an employer owes.

Calculation limits

The overtime tools use standard federal weekly rules. The paycheck tool uses 2026 federal withholding and a dated state bracket model or your entered state withholding. The tools do not determine exemption status or apply state daily-overtime rules. No account or pay-stub upload is required.

How calculations are checked

The source ledger and paycheck methodology record source links, check dates, formulas, and limits. Source-check dates are separate from the dates of the underlying tax tables.

Automated tests check worked examples, rounding, separate workweeks, federal withholding, payroll deductions, and unsupported inputs. Release checks also build the public pages and check metadata and links. These software checks do not establish that an estimate fits your employment or tax situation.
