## How much could an extra shift add?

Calculate the complete workweek before and after adding the shift, then subtract baseline gross from planned gross. Assign every shift to the correct workweek. With mixed rates, extra hours can change the weighted regular rate for that week.

**Synthetic example:** 38 hours at $24 gives $912. Add an eight-hour shift at $24: 46 hours gives $1,176, including six overtime hours. The shift adds $264 in gross pay. Taxes, deductions, and take-home pay are not estimated.
